# Free sample: brand.md and the month-plan skill

Two pieces of the Small Business Social Agent Pack. Fill brand.md with your facts and voice, save the skill as `.claude/skills/month-plan/SKILL.md`, and ask your agent for a month of posts. It writes plan.csv with an Approved column only you fill in. It never posts.

## The month-plan skill
````markdown
---
name: month-plan
description: Plan 30 days of social posts for a small local business from brand.md, writing every post as a row in plan.csv with channel, text, image link, posting time and a blank Approved column. Use when the owner asks for a content calendar, a month of posts or ideas for what to post.
---
# Month plan
1. Read brand.md: what you sell, hours, voice, words to avoid, channels and how often to post on each.
2. Mix the month: about half useful or behind-the-scenes posts, a quarter about what you sell, the rest community, staff (only names in brand.md) or questions to followers. No more than one offer post a week unless brand.md says otherwise.
3. Write each post as a row in plan.csv: Channel, Text, Image URL (a direct link to a real photo the owner has, or blank with a Notes line saying what photo to take), Tags, Posting Time as YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm in 24-hour time, Approved left blank, Notes.
4. Every link carries utm_source=<channel>&utm_medium=social so the owner can see which posts sent visitors.
5. Run `python3 calendar_check.py .` and fix every finding.
6. Show the owner the first week as a short list and ask them to mark Approved yes or no in plan.csv.
## Rules that always apply
- Use only facts from brand.md and what the owner tells you: prices, hours, offers and staff names come from there or not at all. Where a fact is missing, write [ASK: what you need].
- Do not post, schedule, reply, like, follow or send anything, and do not log in to any social account. You draft; the owner publishes.
- Never set Approved to yes. Only the owner does.
Step 5 runs calendar_check.py, which comes with the full pack ($19) along with the reply drafter, the Buffer export skill and the AGENTS.md. Without it, check by hand: every Posting Time looks like 2026-11-02 07:30 (Buffer's required format), no blank rows, every link has utm_source, and nothing is marked Approved that you did not mark yourself.
The skill file above passed the Agent Skills reference validator on 2026-10-30. It was not run inside an agent for this sample.
