What you end up with
Your bots run on clear standing orders, report only what needs you, hand work to each other in one format, and ask before they send, spend, trade or deploy.
What you get
- 10 sections in one .md file, about 25 pages
- The seven parts of a bot that holds up, with a blank template
- 8 personas: chief of staff, research and verification, SEO auditor, product builder, expense and receipts, social signal watcher, newsletter drafter, inbox drafter
- A standing order card, a local-time cron table, working-hours windows, exact vs flexible timing and watches that expire
- Quiet-by-default and end-of-day reporting rules
- Event routine recipes for a chat channel, a pull request, an email listener and a form intake
- Multi-bot handoffs: desk report format, handoff packet, decision log and four approval gates (send, spend, trade, deploy)
- Memory hygiene: profile vs journal, what never to store, a monthly cleanup prompt
- A 20-point setup check and 10 test scenarios to run before you trust a bot
- 12 prompts for writing, tightening and auditing bots
Who it is for
People who run, or want to run, one or more Grok Bots for real business work and want them to keep a schedule, stay inside clear limits and report briefly.
Works with
Solid chips: the agent is named in this listing's own tools list. Dashed chip: Plain Markdown, so it also pastes into other agents such as Grok Bot, Hermes, OpenClaw or Muse. We list those as compatible by format only, not as tested.
Tools needed
Cost to run: Free. Uses the Grok Bot plan you already have. No paid add-ons required.
Time to result: First persona and standing order running in one sitting
Sample prompts, free to use
Here is a job I want a bot to do: [job, inputs, what good output looks like]. Write a bot persona with seven parts: name, title, one line, instructions, guardrails, ask-first rules, reporting. Keep instructions under 400 words with numbered steps and a fixed output format. List anything you had to assume.
Guardrails about actions, not attitude, are the ones a bot can follow.
Read these instructions: [paste]. For each action the bot can take in the world (send, post, spend, trade, deploy, delete, change settings), say whether it is FORBIDDEN, GATED (with the card it shows) or OPEN. Flag every OPEN action that cannot be undone.
Run it in a separate chat for an outside view.

# Grok Bot Templates: personas, standing orders and handoffs A PaperChaseWebb pack, version 1.0. Written for Grok Bot: always-on bots with their own instructions, memory, scheduled routines and connected apps. Plain Markdown, so the persona bodies and rules also paste into other agents that take a system prompt, but the wording and the routine patterns are written for Grok Bot. This pack does not build a bot for you. It is the set of files we use to set one up so it does useful work on a schedule, asks before anything it cannot take back, and reports in a way you will actually read. It comes from running a small team of bots for our own business every day and from two public breakdowns of Grok Bot business setups, both credited by link in `09-sources.md`. Everything here is written in our own words. ## Files | File | What it is for | |---|---| | 01-anatomy.md | The seven parts of a bot that holds up: name, title, one line, instructions, guardrails, ask-first rules, reporting. Worth knowing
- The pack is a set of templates and rules. It does not connect apps, run routines or host anything for you.
- Routine, trigger and memory names differ by plan and setup. The patterns are written to fit, but check your own settings.
- Test every bot with a test inbox, channel and copied files before it touches real accounts.
Questions
Which agent is it written for?
Grok Bot. The persona bodies are plain Markdown, so they also paste into other agents that take a system prompt, but we wrote the routines and memory rules for Grok Bot.
Do I need to code?
No. Everything is text you paste into the bot's instructions. The cron table covers the only syntax you need.
Will the bots send or buy things on their own?
Not with these templates. Every persona drafts, and sending, spending, trading and deploying sit behind an approval card that needs your yes for each action.
Is there a free sample?
Yes. The standing order card, the cron table and the two reporting rules are free on their own listing.
Is any of it copied?
No. It comes from our own daily bot setup and two public breakdowns of Grok Bot business setups, rewritten in our words and credited by link inside.
