by PaperChaseWebb
From the AI Answer Visibility Check: five rules for checking whether assistants name you (leave your name out of the question, a fresh chat each time, three runs before you call it, save the answer as it came, change your own pages with your own yes), and a read-only script that checks your saved answers.

What you end up with
In a few minutes you can see whether your saved answers are a fair test, and which questions named you.
What you get
- Five rules
- vis_mini.py: five read-only checks on your saved answers
- One prompt for all four harnesses
- Worked example: 5 findings, then 0
Who it is for
Anyone who wants a quick, fair look at whether AI assistants name them when a buyer asks.
Works with
Solid chips: the agent is named in this listing's own tools list. Dashed chip: Plain Markdown, so it also pastes into other agents such as Grok Bot, Hermes, OpenClaw or Muse. We list those as compatible by format only, not as tested.
Tools needed
Cost to run: Free.
Time to result: About ten minutes to a first run once you have saved answers
Sample prompts, free to use
Help me write five buyer questions for my business that do not contain my name. I will ask each one three times in fresh chats and save the answers in answers/. Then fill in answers.csv, run python3 vis_mini.py on the folder, and tell me which questions named me, which did not, and who was named instead. Do not ask any assistant yourself and do not change any page.
The rules and the script are in the file.

# AI Answer Visibility Check: five rules and a five-check script (free sample)
Version 1.0, 2026-10-29. By PaperChaseWebb. For anyone who wants to know whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Grok names their business when a buyer asks. One Markdown file and one Python 3 script, standard library only. You ask the assistants yourself and save the answers; the script reads them. It opens no network connection and never asks an assistant anything. It was tested on its worked example (5 findings, then 0) and on a missing folder (exit 2). It was not run inside any agent harness or against any real assistant, and the example business and answers are made up.
One answer from an assistant is not a pattern. Ask the same buyer question in a new chat and you may get a different list of names. This sample is built around that: three fresh chats per question before anything counts as a gap, your name kept out of the question, and the answer saved exactly as it came.

```
python3 -c "import re;t=open('FREE-SAMPLE.md').read();open('vis_mini.py','w').write(re.search(r'~~~python\n(.*?)~~~',t,re.S).group(1))"
python3 vis_mini.py --example demo
python3 vis_mini.py demo/before
```
## Five rules
1. **Leave your name out of the question.** Ask what a buyer types before they know you: "bookkeeper for a food truck in Portland", not "is Harbor Lane good".
2. **Fresh chat, every time.** A new chat per run, memory off where youTest record
- Date
- Oct 29, 2026
- What was run
- vis_mini.py on the worked example, a fixed folder and a missing folder.
- Result
- 5 findings, then 0; exit 2 on a missing folder.
- Not run
- The prompt inside a harness. Any real assistant.
Copied from this item's dated test notes. What was not run stays in.
Worth knowing
- The sample checks five rules. Hashed answers, sessions per run, position, others named, cited sources, stale answers, the own-brand rule, verdicts worked out again and owner approvals by hash are in the full pack.
- On 2026-10-29 vis_mini.py gave 5 findings on the worked example, then 0 on the fixed folder, and exited 2 on a missing folder. The prompt was not run inside a harness and no real assistant was asked anything.
Questions
Does it send anything anywhere?
No. It reads your folder and opens no network connection.
What is in the full pack?
Fifteen read-only checks, vis.py to record and read pasted answers for your name, position, others named and sources, a dated report, page changes that wait for the owner's yes tied to a sha256, a skill file, AGENTS.md snippet and Grok Bot rules block, ten prompts and a failure table. $19.

AI Answer Visibility Check: does an assistant name you when a buyer asks, and who gets named instead
Ask each buyer question three times per assistant in fresh chats, paste the answers, and get a dated record of where you were named, where you were missed, who was named instead and which sources each answer cited. Fifteen read-only checks keep it honest: no brand in the question, three runs before a gap, answers hashed as given, nothing older than a month treated as current, and only your own brand. Page changes wait for the owner's yes.

Agent-Ready Storefront Check: five rules and a five-check script (free sample)
From the Agent-Ready Storefront Check: five rules for a store agent shoppers can use (let the agents in, link every machine-readable file from llms.txt, Product JSON-LD with a price, a real checkout link on every paid page, no CAPTCHA on product pages), and a read-only script that checks your built site folder for them.

Agent Readiness Self-Check: score one workflow before you hand it to an AI agent
A free self-check for agencies and small businesses. Name the decision, then score one workflow across eight areas (workflow mapped, data access, approval gates, owner per agent, handoffs, cost tracking, security and vetting, measurement) with an evidence rule, three gate rules and a skeptical pass, and read your band and the next steps it allows. v1.1 starts with the decision the score will change, scores unknowns as unknown, adds rules for conflicting facts and lookalike public records, ties every band to the next steps it allows with the Production Readiness Audit before go-live, makes owner approval concrete (prepared and approved status, a one-reply approval line, decisions the agent must leave open, a done test), adds agent files for Grok Bot, Claude Code, Codex and Hermes, a second worked example (missed call to booked job), a readiness folder with a fifteen-check read-only checker, a front door test with four questions to ask anyone selling you an agent install, and a plain note on how it was tested. Still free.
