Instagram Manager Workflow with Owner Yes: draft, queue, approve, post
by PaperChaseWebb
A weekly Instagram routine where an agent does the drafting and the owner says yes before anything goes up. Study last week's own numbers, plan 3 to 5 posts, draft captions and alt text with every claim labeled, check the batch, approve each post in one sitting, then post from a sheet of approved, unchanged posts. Each approval is tied to a fingerprint of the exact caption, alt text and media, so a quiet edit after the yes is caught.

What you end up with
One week of Instagram posts planned, drafted, checked and approved by the owner in about an hour of owner time, with a record of who approved what and nothing posted without a yes.
What you get
- The six-step weekly loop: study, plan, produce, queue, approve, post
- batch_check.py: 20 error checks and 4 warnings on the week sheet, read-only
- approve.py: a terminal review where the owner types their name for each post; it refuses to run inside an agent session
- queue_sheet.py: the posting sheet of approved, unchanged posts, plus a posted log that refuses anything unapproved
- study_note.py: a Monday note from your own Instagram insights, one pattern to repeat
- Claim labels with evidence, a people-release column, and a cross-check that any "comment WORD" call to action has a live reply in Comment to DM Delivery
- AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, an instagram-owner-yes skill, a Grok Bot standing order, Codex and Hermes notes
- A fictional example week and 30 tests
Who it is for
Anyone who wants an agent to do the Instagram drafting while a named owner approves every post before it goes up.
Works with
Solid chips: the agent is named in this listing's own tools list. Dashed chip: Four Python scripts, a CSV week sheet, templates, AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md rules, a skill file, a Grok Bot standing order and Codex and Hermes notes. Tested on Linux.
Tools needed
Cost to run: The kit is the only purchase. Python is free.
Time to result: First week planned and checked in about 45 minutes
How it works
Run the tests
Unpack the kit and run python3 -m unittest discover -s tests.
Expected: 30 tests pass.
Set the owner
Copy templates/ to a week folder and put the owner's name, the week start and your post limit in settings.json.
Expected: batch_check.py runs on the empty week with 0 errors.
Plan and draft
Your agent studies last week, proposes 3 to 5 concepts, and drafts captions and alt text for the ones the owner selects.
Expected: Rows marked drafted, every number in a caption backed by a claim row.
Approve and post
Run batch_check.py until it is clean, then the owner runs approve.py and posts from the sheet queue_sheet.py writes.
Expected: Approved rows with fingerprints, a posting sheet, and a posted log after each post.
Sample prompts, free to use
Follow AGENTS.md in this kit. Read last week's study note and propose 3 to 5 concepts for the week in week.csv as status idea. Do not select, approve or schedule anything.
Prompt 1 of 2.
For every row the owner marked selected, draft the caption and alt text, label every claim in claims.csv, run batch_check.py and fix what it finds. Stop at drafted and give me the check output.
Prompt 2 of 2.

# Instagram Manager Workflow with Owner Yes **Your agent studies last week, drafts this week and lines it all up for review. Nothing goes on your Instagram until you have approved that exact caption, alt text and image. Change one word after your yes and it is back in your queue.** Version 1.0, 2026-11-03. By PaperChaseWebb Inc. Works with Grok Bot, Claude Code, Codex and Hermes, or on its own. Python 3.8 or newer, no installs. ## The problem Handing Instagram to an agent or an assistant usually fails one of two ways. Either every post waits on you one at a time, so nothing goes out, or posts go out that you never saw. The usual fixes are a scheduler login handed to a tool, or a chat thread where "looks good" gets read as approval for a version that later changed. This kit gives you a third option: one weekly batch, reviewed in one sitting, with a record of exactly what you said yes to. ## The weekly loop | Day | Step | Who | Output | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Monday | **Study** last week's numbers | agent | study-note.md: what performed, what flopped, one pattern to repeat | | Monday | **Plan** 3 to 5 concepts | agent proposes, you select or kill | `idea` rows in week.csv, `selected` by your name | | Tuesday | **Produce** captions, alt text, media list | agent | `drafted` rows, claims logged | | Wednesday | **Queue** the week for review | agent runs the checker | batch_check: 0 errors | | Wednesday | **Approve** in one sitting | you, in your own terminal | `approved
Test record
- Date
- Nov 3, 2026
- What was run
- tests/test_desk.py and tests/test_mini.py (30 tests) unpacked from the pack file and run fresh on Linux, Python 3.8, 3.9, 3.11, 3.12 and 3.13; the free sample unpacked from its file and run on its example.
- Result
- 30 passed, 0 failed on all five versions; each of the 20 batch faults caught by its own code; an edit after approval caught by the fingerprint.
- Not run
- macOS or Windows. A live Instagram account. A live Grok Bot, Claude Code, Codex or Hermes session.
Copied from this item's dated test notes. What was not run stays in.
Worth knowing
- The kit never posts for you. The owner posts by hand or from a scheduler they already use, after approval.
- Limits follow Instagram's own pages as read on 2026-11-03: 5 hashtags per post in the Help Center, 2,200 caption characters. Both are settings you can change if Instagram changes them.
- approve.py checks for known agent session markers and a real terminal. That stops honest mistakes; it is not a lock against someone determined to get around it.
- No Instagram API calls, no logins, no scraping. Insights come from your own export or numbers you type in.
- On 2026-11-03: 30 tests passed on Python 3.8, 3.9, 3.11, 3.12 and 3.13 on Linux. Agent rules guide; they were not loaded inside each harness for this release.
Questions
How is this different from Comment to DM Delivery?
Comment to DM Delivery sends one private reply when someone comments a keyword. This plans and approves the posts themselves. If a post says "comment WORD", the checker makes sure that keyword is live and approved in your Comment to DM register first.
How is it different from the Content System Kit?
The Content System Kit is a content engine across channels. This is one Instagram week, owner approval tied to the exact caption, and a posting sheet.
Can my agent post?
No. It plans, drafts and checks. Approval and posting stay with the owner, and the checker fails a row an agent or the drafter approved.
Does it work for client accounts?
Yes. Put the client's name as owner. They approve in approve.py, or you record their written yes with the date.
