What you end up with
Every update goes out with notes players understand and a store page that says what the game is in the first line.
What you get
- 15 prompts in one .md file
- A voice capture prompt that learns your tone from three of your past posts
- Patch note template with New, Changes, Fixes and Known issues
- Store page checklist covering the capsule line, short description, feature list and tags
Who it is for
Indie and solo developers, modders and small studios with no marketing person, who would rather spend the evening on the game than on the update post.
Works with
Solid chips: the agent is named in this listing's own tools list. Dashed chip: Plain Markdown, so it also pastes into other agents such as Grok Bot, Hermes, OpenClaw or Muse. We list those as compatible by format only, not as tested.
Tools needed
Cost to run: Uses any chat model. Free tiers are usually enough.
Time to result: Patch notes in about 10 minutes per update
Sample prompts, free to use
You are writing patch notes for [game name], a [genre] game. The readers are players, not developers. Raw change list: [paste commits, tasks or notes]. 1. Drop internal-only items such as refactors, build scripts and code cleanup. 2. Group the rest under New, Changes, Fixes and Known issues. 3. Write each line as what the player will notice, in under 20 words. No hype words. 4. List separately any item you were unsure how to describe instead of guessing.
Step 4 is the important one. Models invent player-facing effects when a commit message is vague.
Write 5 options for the store short description of [game name]. Facts: genre [genre]. Core loop: [one sentence]. What is different: [one sentence]. Platforms: [platforms]. Price: [price or free]. Each option must name the genre in the first 8 words, must not compare the game to other titles by name and must stay under [300] characters. Then tell me which option you would test first and why, in two sentences.
Set the character limit to whatever the store field allows today. Store limits change, so check the current form.

Worth knowing
- Models fill gaps with invented details. The prompts ask them to flag uncertainty, but read every line before posting.
- Check each store's current content rules and field limits yourself. The checklist covers common fields, not every policy.
- Machine translation needs a native speaker pass before it goes to players.
Questions
Does this work for mods and game jam entries?
Yes. The patch note and devlog prompts work for any project with updates and players. Skip the store page prompts if you do not sell the game.
Will my notes sound like everyone else's AI text?
The voice capture prompt builds a short style guide from your own past posts, and every other prompt in the pack uses it. It is the first thing to run.
