What you end up with
You can see whether a job ad shows a real range, benefits and a way to apply, and whether it has wording to fix, before an agent posts it or an applicant reads it.
What you get
- Why job ads need checking
- Ten rules for agents that write or tidy job ads
- jobpost_mini.py: ten read-only checks for one job ad
- A made-up plumbing company ad with eight findings to try it on
Who it is for
Anyone who wants a quick check on what a job ad actually tells an applicant.
Works with
Solid chips: the agent is named in this listing's own tools list. Dashed chip: Plain Markdown, so it also pastes into other agents such as Grok Bot, Hermes, OpenClaw or Muse. We list those as compatible by format only, not as tested.
Tools needed
Cost to run: Free.
Time to result: About five minutes to a first scan
Sample prompts, free to use
Run python3 jobpost_mini.py on my job ad in [file]. List every finding and tell me which line to change. Do not post anything.
The rules and script are in the file.

# Job Post Desk: fair job ad rules and a ten-check job ad scan (free sample) Version 1.0, 2026-11-01. By PaperChaseWebb. For any small business that posts its own job ads, or lets an AI agent write them. One page and one Python 3 script, standard library only, read-only: it reads one job ad, prints findings and changes nothing. It sends nothing and opens no network connection. No API key, no login. Tested on Linux with Python 3.13, 3.12, 3.11, 3.9 and 3.8: 2 unit tests, and 66 of 66 planted faults caught. The example business is made up. Not legal advice. ## Why job ads need checking A growing list of states ask covered employers to put a pay range in job posts, and several also ask for a general description of benefits. Many states and cities bar asking for pay history. Federal rules limit ads that show a preference by age, sex, religion, national origin or disability. A clear ad also brings in people who fit the pay and the job, and fewer who drop out at the offer. Most small job ads slip in the same few ways: - "Competitive pay" or "up to $45 DOE" with no range. - No word on benefits. - No link, email or phone to apply. - "Please include your current salary." - "Digital natives" or "recent graduates". - "He must hold a license." - "Must be able-bodied" or "native English speakers only". - "This post is fully compliant with pay laws." ## Rules to paste into AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, a Grok Bot standing order or Hermes notes 1. Never post, edit or take down a live job ad.
Test record
- Date
- Nov 1, 2026
- What was run
- tests/test_mini.py (2), 66 planted faults against jobpost_mini.py, and the copy extracted from the sample page. Linux, Python 3.13, 3.12, 3.11, 3.9 and 3.8.
- Result
- 2 passed, 0 failed on all five versions; 66 of 66 faults caught; the extracted copy was identical to the tested script and found 8 problems on the example ad.
- Not run
- Your settings and state table, the full post checks, the postings check, the reply review, the fix check and the eval set (the full kit does those).
Copied from this item's dated test notes. What was not run stays in.
Worth knowing
- The sample checks one ad on its own. Your settings and state table, the postings list and reply checks, the fix check against the original, the eval set, owner approval and agent setups are in the full kit.
- Not legal advice. It does not say an ad meets any law.
- On 2026-11-01 jobpost_mini.py passed 2 unit tests and 66 of 66 planted faults on Linux with Python 3.13, 3.12, 3.11, 3.9 and 3.8, and the copy extracted from the sample page was identical to the tested script.
Questions
Does it change my files or post anything?
No. It reads the file you name and prints findings. It opens no network connection, posts nothing and changes nothing.
What is in the full kit?
21 checks on each job ad against your own roles and a dated state table, 9 on where each ad is up, 13 on replies to applicants, a 12-check fix check against the original, owner approval at a terminal, an eval set, and setup for Grok Bot, Claude Code, Codex and Hermes. $29.

Job Post Desk: agent fixes for your job ads and applicant replies, pay range shown, fair wording, owner approved
Let an agent tidy your job ads, check where each ad is still up and review draft replies to applicants, without dropping the pay range, inventing a bonus, asking for pay history or telling anyone they got the job. It writes fixed copies and never posts, takes down, rejects or replies. A fix check refuses a removed range, a deleted line, a new perk or a new email. You approve at your terminal and post it yourself.
